Inside the Practice
Yoga is more than what happens on the mat. It is the way we return to the breath, listen to the body, and remember the steady wisdom within.
At I AM Wellness & Yoga, each practice is created with intention, presence, and care so you can feel supported as you move, breathe, release, and reconnect.

Wear anything you can move and breathe in comfortably.
Soft leggings, joggers, or sweatpants
A t‑shirt, tank, or light long sleeve
Barefoot is usually best for grip and grounding
No specific “yoga outfit” is required—comfort and ease of movement matter more than how it looks.
-
Aim for a simple, supportive setup. You do not need to own every prop to begin.
Helpful props:
Yoga mat (or non‑slip rug)
2 yoga blocks (or sturdy books)
A bolster (or firm pillow/rolled blanket)
Blanket for under knees or for warmth in rest
Strap (or scarf/belt)
If you don’t have props:
Blocks → use thick books or a sturdy box
Bolster → use a firm pillow or rolled blanket
Strap → use a long scarf, belt, or robe tie
Blanket → any soft throw or towel works
The goal is support, not perfection. Use what you have at home and adjust as needed.

Yoga and wellness practices are supportive, but they are not a substitute for medical care.
Stop practicing and rest if you notice:
Sharp, sudden, or worsening pain
Dizziness, faintness, or difficulty breathing
Chest pain, pressure, or unusual heartbeat
Numbness, tingling, or loss of strength that feels new or alarming
Seek medical help or contact a health professional if:
Pain or symptoms continue after class
You have a known condition and something feels “off” or different than usual
You are unsure if a pose or practice is safe for your specific diagnosis
Always listen to your body, honor your limits, and when in doubt, back out of a shape or skip it. If you have ongoing medical conditions, it’s best to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise or yoga program.
